Hi - I am a new user and VERY frustrated with Volvo UK
I have a Volvo S40 TD - registration 06 - which I love - BUT
it has an intermittant fault whereby the 'Brake Failiure - stop safely' warning message comes up and at the same time the accelorator pedal disengages so that you cannot drive to a stop but just slow down to a stop under your own momentum. Once the engine has been turned off you can then not re-start the engine for approx 5 minutes. Once you can then start the engine - the warning message disappears
My car has been back and forth to the Volvo garage 5 times in 5 months - I arranged for them to take it on 29th March this most recent time and they still cannot find any fault - they have now confirmed that since they can't find a fault there is no fault and therefore they have insisted i collect my car or they will charge me parking charges. I consider that the car is dangerous to drive in it's current state as when it suddenly stops as described above - there is very little one can do other than stop wherever you are and risk a serious accident if someone collides with you. Not all roads have a 'hard shoulder' or lay by to stop in !
Has anyone else had this problem (I am sure it's not unique) and or have any suggestions ? |
